Seven artists set to receive the annual Kennedy Center honor on December 2, 2012. Dustin Hoffman, actor George "Buddy" Guy, musicisn David Letterman, late-night TV host Natalia Makarova, ballerina and John Paul Jones, Jimmy Page and Robert Plant, all from the rock band Led Zepellin.

Physics Serge Haroche of France and David Wineland of the United States for work in the field of quantum optics, approaching the same principles from opposite directions. The American uses light particles to measure the properties of matter, whereas his French colleague focuses on tracking light particles by using atoms.
